Attention all Fez-Wearing Rabbits, the LA Times Festival of Books at USC is Calling

The Annual LA Times Festival of Books is looking for volunteers. This year’s Festival of Books will be held on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May at its new location at the University of Southern California (USC).

Last year over 130,000 people attended the Festival, which featured almost a hundred ticketed author events, children’s storytelling, poetry readings, book signings and nearly 500 exhibitor booths.

  • Shifts are 3-4 hours long and can be selected on the registration form.
  • Most jobs requiring standing for the entire shift.
  • Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
  • All applications must be submitted no later than Monday, April 4th.

Volunteers are needed for these shifts

  • 8 am – 10 am
  • 10 am – Noon
  • Noon – 1 pm
  • 1 pm – 3 pm
  • 3 pm – 5 pm
  • 5 pm – 6 pm

They will accept individual volunteers, and even groups of volunteers (if you want to vounteer with your club, friends, fraternity, church, etc) comprised of

  • 2 – 4 people,
  • 2 – 10 people,
  • 5 – 10 people,
  • and 11 or more people

If you’d like to register to volunteer, you can do so online.  If you experience any problems registering online and would prefer to receive a paper application form via U.S. Mail, please call the volunteer hotline at (213) 237-6503.

As you might have guessed, Madeline and her friends are a theme of artwork for the 16th annual Festival of Books. Très charmante!
