The Facebook Upgrade accidentally deleted our Page . . . we’re working on it

For those of you that know, we’ve had a Facebook page for our business for a couple of years located at:

We’ve been getting letters about the updated layouts for months now. On March 7th, 2011 we got this one:

We wanted to remind you that Facebook pages are getting an updated layout and several new features to help you engage with your fans. All pages will automatically be upgraded on March 10.

Preview your page now and you’ll be given the option to upgrade early.

Here’s some of what you’ll be getting:

Notifications when fans interact with your page or posts
A place to showcase photos along the top of your page
A news feed for your page
The ability to Like and post on other pages as your page

The Facebook Team

The problem is, as of March 11, ie, since the “Upgrade” by Facebook, FAB’s business page completely disappeared, which sucks.  Instead of reaching the FAB page, you end up being thrown to the sign-in page of Facebook, and even after you sign in, the page isn’t there, and you keep getting thrown to the page.

It’s basically a mess. But these things happen with upgrades sometimes.  Facebook is possibly working on it. We say possibly because so far the Upgrade page says there are no known bugs. Uh . . . right.

We contacted Facebook on Friday and asked them to find our old page and put it back up, but after a few hours we decide it was probably gone forever.

We’ve no idea how long it will take Facebook to respond, or if they’ll be able to do anything. For all we know a lot of people might have lost their pages as a result of the “upgrade.” So we really can’t wait around.

We have proactively therefore established a new Facebook business page:

We apologize for its current rudimentary nature.  Everything is new and . . . we’re working on it.  We are trying to get our Twitterfeed to post our WP blog on to our Facebook page, a problem we only just got sorted last month with the old Facebook page.

The whole thing has been a a bit of a time-suck and still isn’t all straightened out, but that’s what’s going on. And thanks for your patience.
