Tao Nyeu’s bear is back . . . and the bunnies have got him!

Bunny Days
by Tao Nyeu (Dial)

If you love Wonder Bear, by Tao Nyeu, the bear is back . . . and the bunnies have got him!

In this 3-part story, a group of bunnies have unfortunate encounters with mud, a vacuum cleaner, and a pair of pruning shears. Despite the shock of seeing “bunnies without tails and tails without bunnies,” Nyeu’s cartoon world is always comforting and warm. In each story, Bear is able to set things right thanks to a washing machine, fan, and sewing machine, so that in the end, “Everyone is happy.”

Unlike Wonder Bear, which is a wordless book, this entry has simple text is simple. It also features lots of great opportunities for sound effects which makes it a great read aloud book. You might have to explain that in real life, you can’t put live animals in a front loading washer but . . . kids love that sort of humor.
